Meet the Microbes

Developed for Norwich Science Festival (February 2026)

Meet the Microbes is an educational project developed by the Centre of Microbial Interactions in collaboration with The SAW Trust. It first debuted at Norwich Science Festival 2026 as part of the wider Microbe Zoo exhibit, with the goal of engaging public audiences with the invisible world of microorganisms.

Ten microbes were initially profiled based on the key organisms that are studied across Norwich Research Park. Read and download the fact sheets below to discover more about the important role that these microbes play in different environments, from the soil and water to the roots of plants and within the human body.
