I’m a Career Track Group Leader at the Quadram Institute Bioscience. My research focuses on computational metaproteomics, microbiome bioinformatics and AI-enabled analysis of mass spectrometry data. I developed MetaLab, a widely used metaproteomics analysis platform, and is now leading the development of MetaPilot: an integrated research programme designed to make human gut metaproteomics easier to analyse, interpret and reuse. My work aims to connect microbial genetic potential with realised protein-level function and to establish metaproteomics as a routine functional read-out in microbiome research.
