Group Leader
My research group studies the genetic basis for bacterial responses to stress. We have particular interests in the evolution of antimicrobial resistance and biofilm formation and use a combination of microbiology and functional genomics approaches.
We collaborate widely with partners in academia, industry, government agencies and with clinicians and aim to translate research into societal benefit wherever possible.
Before joining QIB and UEA at the beginning of 2017 I was based in Birmingham where I completed PhD and postdoc studies before being awarded a BBSRC David Phillips fellowship to start my independent career.
